Who?
Elis is an ultrarunner from North Wales. Having started running during lockdown, it has since been a big part of his life. Since then, he's found a greater purpose with his running.
How?
Elis' mission is to inspire and support others to chase their dreams whilst respecting the world that we live in. Over the past few years, he's woken up to the impact that our day to day activities are having on this planet. He hopes to educate himself and others; being part of collective action for a better world. Working with The Green Runners - a running community making changes for a fitter planet - is one of the main ways that Elis advocates for change. He's also an athlete for the Re-Action Collective and Preloved Sports CIC.
What?
Elis likes to undertake challenges to raise money and/or awareness for causes greater than himself. These usually take the form of an ultramarathon. Otherwise, he likes to speak out about environmental and societal issues; aiming to help cultivate change. For Elis, community and connection are key – this is where change starts.
Why?
Climate change is happening now. That's why Elis uses his running to try to advocate for change. We must protect the places that we love to run in before it's too late.
Next?
Looking into the future, Elis hopes to continue to develop as an athlete and to work his way up to racing out the front of some of the UK's biggest ultras. His goal race for 2025 was the Ring O' Fire, however, a badly timed ankle sprain means that he's had to defer his spot to next year, where he'll be racing for the win to raise money for Mind Over Mountains. In the meantime, Elis has already started to think about the next challenge...potentially an FKT and a couple of races before the end of the year!

So, why Moggans?
"One of my pledges and goals as a Green Runner is to reduce the amount of kit that I buy. However, socks are just one of those things that always eventually wear out. Moggans' mission aligns with my values - striving to create high-quality, durable socks in an ethical and sustainable way. I've been a fan of merino wool for a while. It wicks sweat, stays cool, and even cleans itself! Being supported by a UK brand who also care about the planet is great and I'm excited to start working with Moggans to help make their socks even better!"
Favourite sock?
"The lightweight merino ankle socks in white are my go to. They're super comfy and perform well in all conditions."
