Materials & Sustainability

Q: What are Moggans socks made from?
Our socks are crafted from mulesing-free merino wool, blended with recycled performance fibres for durability, stretch, and all-day comfort.

Q: Are Moggans socks itchy like regular wool?
Not at all. Merino wool is ultra-fine and soft, making our socks gentle on even the most sensitive skin.

Q: Are your socks sustainable?
Yes! We use mulesing-free merino wool, recycled fibres, and plastic-free packaging. Our production partners are carefully selected for their ethical and environmental standards. Learn more on our Sustainability page.

Q: Can I wear Moggans socks year-round?
Absolutely. Merino wool is thermoregulating, keeping your feet warm in winter and cool in summer — perfect for all seasons.

Q: Do your socks help prevent blisters?
Yes. The moisture-wicking properties and seamless toe construction reduce friction and keep feet dry, helping prevent blisters during sports or hiking.

Scottish-Made Socks & Provenance

Q: Are Moggans socks made in Scotland?
Yes! Our Cashmere Lounge socks and Stravaiger hiking socks are made and finished in Scotland using premium merino and cashmere yarns.

Other Moggans socks are designed in Scotland and ethically manufactured in Europe in family-run factories with over 100 years of expertise.

Q: What makes Scottish-made socks different?
Scotland has a long heritage of wool spinning, knitting, and finishing. Scottish-made socks combine traditional craftsmanship with modern performance, resulting in socks that are durable, comfortable, and premium.

Q: Are your cashmere socks made in Scotland?
Yes. Our cashmere socks are knitted in Scotland, and the yarn is finished in Scotland, giving them their signature softness, luxury, and authenticity.

Q: Do you use Scottish merino wool?
No — merino sheep thrive in warmer climates. We use high-quality, mulesing-free merino wool, and work with UK partners for final manufacturing and finishing of selected products.

Q: How do Scottish-made socks compare to other brands?
Moggans combines Scottish craftsmanship with technical outdoor performance, creating socks that outperform most traditional fashion-focused Scottish knitwear brands.

Q: How long will my socks last?
With proper care, Moggans socks are built to last. Customers report years of wear thanks to reinforced heels and toesand premium fibres.

Q: What size should I order?
We offer a detailed size guide on each product page. If you’re between sizes, we recommend sizing up for a more relaxed fit.

Q: Are your sizes unisex?
Yes! Our socks come in UK sizes 3–11 and are unisex. If you’re between sizes, sizing up ensures extra comfort.

Q: Can I wear them for sports?
Definitely. Moggans socks are trusted by ultrarunners, cyclists, and outdoor athletes for performance, breathability, and comfort under pressure. Read more about our ambassadors and their stories.
