Growing up in Perthshire I got involved in every sport I could with rugby as a dominant part. I always had a passion for the hills living amongst them and always enjoyed various Munro expeditions, so I found a natural fit with hill, trail and cross country running.
My running journey started in 2019 after placing at a local ‘Kilt Run event’ that was entered as a bit of fun, a fellow competitor suggested joining the local running club (Strathearn Harriers), and later that year I did. I dived in headfirst and competed in my first cross country races that very same year. Enjoying racing I have competed in anything I could, XC, Road, Track and Hills. Later In 2021 I picked up my very first Junior Scotland vest in the hills, and a weekend of racing out in Northern Ireland fueled the fire. and since then, I have worked to get faster, improve and make teams wherever possible with various selections in 2022, 2023 and 2024 for junior teams in the Hills. In Late 2024 I made my first junior Scotland team in Cross Country after a U20 win at the National Short Course Champs. This year after the jump up into the senior age category I was selected for my first senior Scotland team for the Snowdon International Hill Race.
With a desire to be out in the mountains whenever I get the chance comfort is really important to me whether that be training or racing, I have been using Moggans for several years as they have kept my feet warm even on some of the harshest days in the Hills.
