But wait, isn’t wool itchy?
We all remember those itchy wool jumpers we used to wear as children! But all wool is not the same, and merino in particular, is much softer than “regular” wool.
→ Regular wool has coarser fibres, which are less elastic and can also fray more easily
→ Merino wool fibres are soft and flexible, which means they bend more with your body’s movements without making you itchy and without rubbing
→ Bonus: Longer-lasting socks, no itches, and no blisters!
Moggans socks offer:
- Softness & comfort
- Breathability & moisture wicking
- Reduced risk of blisters & hot spots
- Temperature regulation 🌡️
- Mulesing-free (sheep 🐑 aren’t harmed!)
- All-day comfort
From Wet To Dry, In No Time
Stepping in puddles or getting caught in the rain are very much part of summer days out, too! While it may feel a bit refreshing to start, you need your socks to dry quickly or you run the risk of blisters and very sore feet. Cue moisture-wicking, quick-drying merino wool, which acts in 2 steps to get you dry again:
Step 1: Move the wetness off your feet
The chemical structure of merino wool allows it to absorb moisture like a champion: the fibers can hold up to a third of their own weight in moisture vapour without feeling wet. Your feet will feel drier, sooner and they won’t get cold, either!
Step 2: Release moisture into the air
Merino wool then releases the moisture it’s collected into the air, which helps the socks dry quickly and maintains your comfort. Of course, your shoes need to be breathable, too - so make sure you choose wisely there!
